Now that berry season is in full swing, I am thrilled to be trying out new smoothies with my 9 month old. Just recently we have started to see blueberries pop up in our local market.
Today’s recipe is perfect for busy mornings when you wish you had 8 arms. All I do is pulse whatever berries I have on hand, along with yogurt and oatmeal, and in an instant my little one has a well rounded meal that is completely portable. Even better? He can serve himself.
It’s the little things.
Your straw is waiting.
- 1/2 banana
- 1/2 c blueberries
- 1/4 c oatmeal iron fortified for baby
- 1/2 c whole milk yogurt
- 1 tsp flax seed meal
- 1/4 c water
- Ice to taste
Puree all ingredients in a high speed blender until smooth; serve immediately to save in the fridge for later in the day.
