Creamy vanilla bean yogurt and cherry preserves are swirled into steel cut oatmeal to create this warm and satisfying power breakfast.
I’m a little embarrassed to admit how much yogurt my family consumes on a weekly basis. Our youngest has only been eating solids for a couple of months now and I swear he is already out-consuming his older brother!
From smoothies to Middle Eastern food and everything in between, we truly enjoy yogurt morning, noon and night in this house.
One of the reasons we eat so much yogurt is because I use it to bring down the temperature of hot foods I’m trying to serve my 9 mo and 2 yo. Plain yogurt stirred into chili or blueberry yogurt spread on top of warm pancakes is not only delicious but it also allows me to get food into their bellies asap. Because let’s be real, hungry babies and toddlers are not exactly a fun time… ;)
As a nod to my Michigan cherry love, I decided to pair the vanilla yogurt with Bonne Maman cherry preserves. The slightly tart-sweet cherry flavor blends perfectly with the vanilla-bean Petite Creme. The dish is finished with a handful of buttery walnuts to provide even more protein and heart-healthy fats to keep your whole family energized all morning long.
Your spoon is waiting.

I think this will get my kids to sit long enough to get some food in them in the morning..you know teenagers, can’t get them to sit down for long!
Oh man I can only imagine Diane!
I DO love my Greek yogurt…but I think I could add this into the rotation a few days a week without feeling too much like I’m having a torrid love affair. (Except it would totally be a torrid love affair.)
hahaha I love it!
I LOVE this – so healthy and so tasty. Aside from that, fast and easy breakfasts like this one are always winners.
Thank you Naomi!! Fast and easy is my favorite type of meal. :)
First of all – those blue eyes! What a cutie. <3
We are real yogurt lovers around here too…Mike literally drinks a pitcher of leban ayran every night, lol! I love the idea of combining steel cut oats and yogurt!
I love leban!! There’s nothing better.

I know it’s really crazy Rachel!! It’s so much faster with more than one as you know.
I must get on board with the steel cut oats! I’ve never tried them, we eat a ton of oatmeal, but always GF old fashioned, but these look so good! What a great idea swirling in yogurt! yum!

We eat TONS of yogurt too (like, I make it by the half gallon for us… regularly!). We eat a lot of oatmeal too, but for some reason, I’ve never put the two together – must try!
haha I’m so glad we’re not alone!
This sounds amazing. Now, if it could just get below 85 degrees at my house, I could think about eating it!!!
Actually I’ve made these cold as overnight refrigerator oats too!!!
Adding the Bonne Maman jam to your oatmeal is a fantastic idea!
I couldn’t resist!!
I am all over this! Oatmeal in the morning is my happy place. Love the cherries!!
