In this Post: Everything you need for Chocolate Oatmeal with Raspberry Preserves
I’ve got a confession to make: I add cocoa powder to my smoothies almost every single morning. Packed with antioxidants, rich chocolatey flavor and low in calorie, why can’t a girl start each day with a little chocolate?

Inspired by my chocolate smoothies, I decided to do the same for my boys recently who have been on a major oatmeal kick.

Old fashioned oats are simmered in a mixture of whole milk, flax seeds, cocoa powder, cinnamon and vanilla before being drizzled with pure raspberry preserves.

For a special occasion like Valentine’s Day or a birthday, I’ll sprinkle in a few mini chocolate chips but it’s just as delicious without.

If you have fresh berries, now is the time to add them. I also love using frozen berries because they will cool the oats down a bit making it easier for little ones to dive right in.

What are your favorite oatmeal toppings/mix-ins? I’d love to hear from you.
Your spoon is waiting.
