
Summa, summa, summatime… Confession: I am obsessed with ice cream. Admittedly, I do not have a sweet tooth and much prefer salty snacks to sugary confections. But ice cream? That’s an entirely different ball game.
Guess what else I love? Chocolate malts. Yea baby… you know you do, too. Did you know that a small chocolate malt from Dairy Queen will cost you 640 calories? A large malt from Sonic? 950 calories.

Healthier Chocolate Malt
Servings:
Ingredients
- 1 c skim milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 tbs cocoa powder
- pinch sea salt
- 3 tbs Ovaltine – chocolate malt
- 1 c slow churned chocolate ice cream
- 2 handfuls ice
- whipped cream (optional)
Instructions
- Place milk, vanilla, cocoa, salt, Ovaltine and ice cream in a blender and puree until smooth.
- Add ice (as much as you wish) and blend until well combined.
- Serve with whipped cream. (I won’t judge you if it comes out of a can if you don’t judge me!)
