A behind-the-scenes look at my recent visit to New York City for a video shoot with Lorissa’s Kitchen in partnership with Real Simple Magazine.
If you follow me on Instagram or Snapchat, you may have noticed I was in New York City last month for a video shoot. I’m thrilled to finally tell you a bit more about my visit as well as the premise behind the videos I created in partnership with Lorissa’s Kitchen.
The video shoot took place at Home Studios Inc., a beautiful loft in Lower Manhattan with exposed brick walls and floor to ceiling windows. Natural light filled the room from floor to ceiling.
Since I knew I would be occupied throughout the day, I brought along my incredibly talented (and hilarious!) photographer and dear friend Raul of Alejandro Photography to capture the experience.
First up? Hair, make-up and wardrobe, of course. Let’s be real – when you’re a busy working mama of two toddlers like I am, there is really nothing better than having a glam squad.
A huge shout out to Sharon for handling my gorgeous wardrobe and Stephania for making sure my hair and makeup were on point all day long. When they say it takes a village, let me tell you… it takes a village.
We taped three videos in total all focused around the topics of healthy living, fitness, weight loss and parenthood.
In the coming months, I’ll be delving a bit deeper into the specific topics I spoke very candidly about including healthy snacking on the go, the types of foods I re-fuel with after a workout and how I have kept my 65 pound weight loss off for over 9 years.
It is always a privilege to align myself with brands like Lorissa’s Kitchen who share the same values I do when it comes to snacking.
Made with just a few simple ingredients like 100% grass-fed beef and antibiotic-free chicken, they have created a line of high-protein, shelf-stable snacks you can feel good about eating.
I can’t wait to tell you more about my experience in New York City in the months to come but in the meantime, I’m thrilled to finally share with you the first of three videos created.
And more importantly, I want to hear from YOU! What are your favorite healthy snacks for your busy lifestyle? I’m all ears.
Disclosure: Lorissa’s Kitchen in partnership with Real Simple Magazine has compensated me for my time to create these videos and share this post with you. They also hosted my stay in New York City. As always, thank you for supporting the brands that make The Lemon Bowl possible. All thoughts are my own.

I am now totally obsessed with Lorissa’s Kitchen. I have had the peppercorn and Korean beef. I keep them at my desk at work and they are perfect for staving off the late afternoon hunger.
