Tips for creating the ultimate hummus pairing board for the big game or a cozy night in with friends! This appetizer is naturally gluten free and vegan, perfect for entertaining a crowd.
With the big game right around the corner, I’m already starting to brainstorm appetizer ideas! Because let’s be real, I’m only here for the snacks and the commercials. Who’s with me?
One of my closest friends was recently diagnosed with Celiac disease and another dear friend started eating a vegan diet last fall. With more and more people eating restrictive diets, it can be a bit intimidating to host a party or entertain friends. Fret not – I’ve got the ultimate party platter that is naturally vegan, gluten free and packed with plant-based protein: a Sabra hummus pairing platter!
When creating the platter, I keep three things in mind: taste, color and texture. To start, simply remove the lids from as many varieties of Sabra hummus and guacamole you can get your hands on. We are huge fans of the olive tapenade and supremely spicy but a variety is always best to make sure there’s something for everyone.
Next, it’s time to think about dippers! Crunchy gluten free seed crackers, sliced cucumbers, yellow or blue corn tortilla chips, cherry tomatoes and any other veggies you have on hand always work well. Again: keep it colorful, fresh and varied in texture.
Late but not least, I like to sprinkle in a few extra goodies like Greek olives, sun-dried tomatoes and fresh fruit. If your kids are anything like mine, they’ll use the apple slices as dippers too. No judgement here – we’re just here to have fun and party!
