After 41 weeks of pregnancy I am thrilled to finally announce the arrival of our newest bundle of joy: Jacob Ryan. He was born on November 14th at 12:47am weighing 8 lbs 13 oz and measuring 21 inches long.
He has a full head of light brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. We are completely, madly in love with him.
Big Brother came to visit us at the hospital and meet “Baby Brother”. The look on his face above is priceless!
Above is same pose my husband took with our first son which has been his Facebook profile photo for the past two years. He still hasn’t changed it but I’m thinking that may need to change. (PS: He participated in “No Shave Movember” to raise awareness for men’s health which explains the straggly look.)
Does anyone else love their hospital as much as I love mine? It was honestly a bit like a mini vacation – a wonderful staff of nurses taking care of me, room service at the touch of a button, free movies, Starbucks..it was bliss.
We had a gorgeous view of the skyline with the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Above is the first sunset of our new life with Baby Jacob.
Big Brother is completely in love with Jacob. He is always patting his head, sitting close to us during feedings and offering to help Daddy with diaper changes. He is going to be an incredible big brother and I can’t wait to watch them grow into best friends for life.
Can we discuss the cheeks and the lips? I just can’t. It’s too much to handle.
Several people asked if he looks like Asher as a baby. Above is a side by side comparison of newborn photos: Jacob on the left, Asher on the right. (Note: Jacob was born two weeks later and weighed 2 pounds more than Asher in this photo.) They look similar to me – the biggest difference is Jacob’s lighter hair color and lighter blue eyes.
Needless to say, we are completely smitten with our newest little man. I have truly never been happier in my entire life. I feel so lucky, blessed, grateful and full. My heart bursts every time I look into his eyes. To say that I will be counting my blessings this Thanksgiving is an understatement.
