Place a steamer basket in a large sauce pot and pour in just enough water to see through the basket.
Bring the water to a boil by placing a lid on the pot.
Cut carrots into about 1 inch chunks.
Once water has come to a boil, remove lid and add apples and carrots.
Cover and let steam until tender (about 20 minutes or so.)
Place tender carrots and apples into a food processor or blender and puree until smooth. Add water until you've reached your desired consistency. (I added about 1 cup.)
To freeze: place puree in ice cube trays.
Once frozen, remove from tray and place cubes into a zip lock bag to store.
Notes
When storing it for later how do you I defrost the frozen cubes?
Just leave them out on the counter for a little bit – maybe an hour?
