Tahini Garlic Mayo

All is right in the world when I have a jar of tahini stashed in the pantry or in my refrigerator. In case you’re not familiar, tahini is a paste made from sesame seeds. You can pick up a jar at most large grocery stores, international markets, or online.

Tahini Jar

Tahini is the secret to smooth, creamy hummus and is a great addition to many Lebanese specialties. Packed with heart-healthy omega 3’s and mono-unsaturated fatty acids, tahini is satisfying, delicious, and totally good for you.

Freekeh Salad with Tahini, Chickpeas and Pomegranate - The Lemon Bowl

We love drizzling it over grilled meats, roasted fish, and tossing it into salads. Most recently, I turned it into a quick and easy Creamy Tahini Garlic Mayo to spread over juicy burgers. The cool, flavorful sauce complements a hot-off-the-grill burger to a T. It’s the ultimate dip for hot, crispy french fries and is ideal for dipping cool veggies.

Tahini mixed with fresh garlic, real mayo, and bright lemon juice instantly transforms into a mouth-watering and addictive condiment you’ll be making again and again.

Could you tell me what serving size the 82 calories are based on? Thanks

Sorry, I’ll have to clarify that. Serving size is 1 Tablespoon!

Gooooooooodness this stuff is amazing!! I used a double boiler, so I could heat it up without the mayo separating, and poured it in a pan that had cooked squash, zucchini, asparagus and spinach. Delicious! I found it while doing the Whole30 thing, but man if I were a pasta eater this would be my go to for alfredo sauce. Using homemade mayo this is pretty clean and guilt free. Thank you!

I normally don’t like mayo but with tahini added into the mix…I could really get to loving it.

This sounds like the perfect way to dress up hamburgers. My husband is happy with straight mayo (and I am, too, when we are eating out), but I think I would be much happier with this tasty version. It doesn’t hurt that I was introduced to tahini and other wonderful things Lebanese almost 50 years ago…
