Today is a very special day because my sweet and talented friend Alyssa from Everyday Maven is expecting a second baby! I am honored to be co-hosting today’s shower with the equally beautiful and talented Faith. When picking a theme, we asked our friends to create gluten/grain free recipes that are ideal for a busy mama to make.
You all know I’m a huge fan of smoothies but they truly are the ideal meal for a new mom or a new mom the second time around for several reasons:
- Meal-In-A-Glass: In one glass, you can get a hefty serving of protein, carbs, fiber, calcium and many more vitamin and nutrients.
- Quick to Prepare: Smoothies take about 5 minutes to make. Which is good because that’s about all the time new babies allow.
- Ideal for Leisurely Sipping: When you’re home with babies and toddlers, meal time rarely goes without interuptions. Unlike a fried egg, smoothies can be left alone for 10-15 minutes to change a diaper or calm a melting down threenager.

- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and puree until smooth.
