An inside look at the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort, one of the most luxurious resorts on the Cayman Islands located on Seven Mile Beach.

In this Post: Everything you need for
Whether you’re looking at two feet of snow outside like I am right now or simply need a break from the busyness of every day life, I can’t recommend the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort highly enough for your next tropical getaway!

One of the ten Marriott resorts located in the Caribbean & Mexico, this was my first visit to the Cayman Islands but I’m here to report that it won’t be my last..

As you may recall, my professional background is in hotel sales. Before blogging full time, I was working in the hospitality industry for Marriott hotels. One thing I love most about travel writing is that it allows me to combine my two passions of tourism and blogging.

In fact, I began working for Marriott International immediately after receiving my degree in Hospitality Administration from Boston University. Let me tell you – this is not your typical Marriott hotel lobby.

Better known as the Beach House, the open floor plan immediately makes you feel at home. Mixing both common seating areas with various food and beverage outlets, the entire space is buzzing with excitement yet no one is rushed or frazzled. How could you be frazzled when you’re on island time?

Every morning started off with the abundant breakfast buffet at Anchor & Den. Featuring a variety of hot and cold options ranging from chia pudding to homemade churros to a full service omelet station, there is truly something for everyone.

To keep the island zen going, I decided to take a sunrise yoga class right on the beach. Taught by a local yoga instructor, the class was suitable for all fitness levels with an emphasis on restoration and relaxation.

When your feet are in the sand and the entire class is set to the sound of waves crashing the beach, it would have been impossible to leave that yoga class not feeling like a million bucks.

While perfectly suitable for families or couples, one unique feature of the Marriott Caribbean & Latin America Resorts is their Solo Traveler Series. Whether you prefer to stick to yourself or want to socialize with new friends, both packages include a three night stay, personal airport pick-up, an “I’ll Be Back” form to leave with the front desk staff and more.

Regardless of whether you travel alone or with a group, you can’t visit Grand Cayman without a visit to Stingray City. Captain Michael with Crystal Charters is a local resident on the island and extremely knowledgable of the area. Even better? He is really good at catching those slippery stingrays!

After a long day out in the hot sun, I can’t think of anything better than a cold cocktail. While every cocktail on the menu at Anchor & Den looked amazing, I highly recommend Monkey Food made with local banana rum and pineapple juice.

When it comes to dinner time, the menu at Anchor & Den offers a little something for everyone. From fresh seafood to juicy steaks to juicy burgers and lobster rolls, you really can’t go wrong with anything off this inventive menu.

After dinner, it’s time for big show of the evening: the nightly sunset ritual. If there is anything you don’t want to miss during your visit to Grand Cayman, it’s the sunset.

I’ve seen many sunsets in my day but there is just something to magical about the colors of the sun as it hits the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.

It’s really unlike anything I’ve ever seen and was truly the highlight of every day.

As you make your travel plans for 2017, I can’t recommend the Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort enough. Beyond the gorgeous location, delicious food and endless amenities, what stood out most to me was the high level guest service. Every member of the staff went above and beyond showing extreme pride in their work.

As someone who has not only worked in the hotel industry for many years but has also traveled all around the globe, I can tell you that this hotel is special. Their employees are empowered to take good care of their guests and they will do whatever it takes to make sure you leave relaxed, happy and eager to return.
Your passport is waiting.
Disclosure: Grand Cayman Marriott Beach Resort paid for my travel and hosted me while visiting Grand Cayman. I was not compensated to write this post and all thoughts are my own.
