This naturally sweetened green shamrock shake is a guilt-free, healthy version of the McDonald’s favorite. Protein-packed and only 14g of sugar this shake is perfect for breakfast, snack or dessert!

As a little kid, I have vivid memories of the sheer joy and excitement surrounding the shamrock shake season. We didn’t eat a lot of fast food growing up so when we pulled into the golden arches in the spring, I knew it was a special occasion.

Fast forward to my adult years and one sip of those shakes pretty much makes my teeth hurt. Making them at home not only allows you to control the quality of ingredients but you can also make it is sweet or thick as you wish.

My version is a rich and delicious naturally sweetened shamrock shake made with fresh mint, creamy avocado, ripe bananas, and baby spinach. No corn syrup or artificial color required.

We like ours nice and thick so we add a good amount of ice but another trick is to use frozen bananas instead of fresh. If you don’t have baby spinach on hand, kale would work too.

Just don’t forget plenty of fresh mint and ripe avocado. They blend together to create a silky, minty and completely addictive shamrock shake that won’t land right on your hips.
Your straw is waiting.

I’ve never had a Shamrock Shake before. I didn’t even know what was in it until last year and even now I am not too sure. Whatever the case, this is the kind of “shake” that I think I want in my life. Can’t wait until morning to try it!

Do you prefer the Bob’s Red Mill to the Biochem?
Liz DellaCroce
Yes I do because it’s naturally sweetened!
eliz
It doesn’t look like the natural flavor or biochem is artificially sweetened?
Liz DellaCroce
I’m sorry what is your question? Want to be sure I answer correctly!
eliz
Oh, I was just looking at the ingredients and it doesn’t look like the “natural” biochem is artificially sweetened, but maybe the other flavors are?
Liz DellaCroce
Ohhh I don’t use BioChem so I’m not sure. I use Bob’s Red Mill :)
