Indian Spiced Beef Kabobs - The Lemon Bowl

Grilled dinners make me so incredibly happy. I love that I can prep dinner earlier in the day with a quick 5 minute marinade and then chill outside grilling on the deck with my husband while our boys run around in the backyard. It is heaven.

One of my favorite secret ingredients for perfectly grilled meat every time is plain yogurt. You can use plain Greek, whole milk, low-fat, whatever. Just don’t buy vanilla by mistake…been there.

Yogurt is the perfect addition to any marinade because it acts and a tenderizer and breaks down the muscle fibers. The result? Tender, juicy meat every time.

Beef Kabobs with Indian-Spiced Marinade - The Lemon Bowl

To give these grilled beef kabobs an Indian twist, I added lots of warm spices including curry powder, garam masala and smoked paprika. Fresh ginger, fragrant garlic and tangy yogurt tie it all together in this simple yet flavorful summertime meal.

Cucumber Laban - The Lemon Bowl

We love eating grilled meats with a cucumber yogurt sauce on the side. These Indian inspired beef kabobs would be ideal with my Cucumber Yogurt Raita or Cucumber Laban (Yogurt Mint Sauce).

What are your favorite grilling marinades? I’d love to hear new ideas!

Your fork is waiting.

How long and temp for broiler?

It depends on your oven, since many don’t offer different settings. If yours does, broil on high for about 4 minutes, then flip the kabobs and broil another 4-5.

Since I’m no longer eating beef, I might have to try this out with chicken? I think it would work!! Yogurt in marinades is everything. My favorite grilling marinade is ususally a little cajun honey lime olive oil mix. it’s amazing!

It’s so funny you say that – I make this all the time with chicken but wanted to try it with beef. Chicken definitely works! I like to make it with a Thai peanut butter sauce too. I know you love your nut butters. ;)
