Crispy, golden Greek roasted potatoes tossed with lemon, garlic, oregano, and olive oil. This easy Mediterranean side dish is bursting with bright flavor and perfect with chicken, lamb, or seafood.

These Greek Roasted Potatoes are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with bright Mediterranean flavor thanks to lemon, garlic, oregano, and olive oil. Simple to make with pantry staples, they’re the perfect side dish for any Mediterranean-inspired meal like Grilled White Fish or Shish Tawook Chicken.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes: Yukon Gold potatoes are ideal because they become creamy inside and crisp up beautifully in the oven. Russet potatoes can also work!
  • Lemon: Lemon juice and zest are used to season these potatoes with Greek flair.
  • Oregano: Earthy, peppery, and classic in Greek cuisine.
  • Garlic: Adds nutty, pungent, and sweet flavor as it cooks.

How to Make Greek Roasted Potatoes

Cutting yukon potatoes into fourths.

Step 1. Start by cutting your potatoes into small pieces and lay out on a baking sheet.

Drizzling olive oil over the top of potatoes.

Step 2. Drizzle the potatoes with olive oil.

Grating garlic over potatoes on baking sheet.

Step 3. Then use a microplane to add freshly grated garlic.

Zesting lemon over potatoes.

Step 4. Then use the microplane to zest the lemon, and then juice the lemon over the potatoes as well.

Seasoning potatoes with oregano.

Step 5. Finally, season the potatoes with oregano, salt, and pepper.

Step 6. Toss everything together until potatoes are evenly coated, then toss in the oven at 425 for around 45 minutes until crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.

These Greek-style roasted potato wedges are roasted with lemon, oregano and garlic until tender and golden brown. The ultimate quick and easy side dish recipe – ideal with chicken, fish or lamb.

  • 1 ½ pounds yukon gold potatoes or Russets cut in wedges
  • ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 lemon zested and juiced
  • 4 cloves garlic grated
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • chili flakes optional

Instructions
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil. 
  2. Skatter potato wedges on the baking sheet then toss well with all remaining ingredients (olive oil through chili flakes.) Roast until crispy, about 45-50 minutes, tossing once halfway through.

Liz’s Notes

This recipe works well with just about any potato variety but I find Yukon gold or Russets are the best. If you have chicken pieces on hand, you can also roast them in the same pan – I just double all of the other ingredients and toss well.
