Now that we are having people over more often, I love having quick and easy no-cook appetizer recipes at the ready for hosting last-minute guests. This fresh and flavorful black bean salsa is made with creamy avocado, sweet corn, onions, and jalapeño. To balance out the flavors, I like to use a combination of lime juice and Nature’s Intent Organic Apple Cider Vinegar to provide just the right amount of acidity.

Why You’ll Love This Black Bean Avocado Salsa

  • No cooking required – perfect for last-minute entertaining.
  • Loaded with fresh ingredients – avocado, black beans, corn, jalapeño, and cilantro.
  • Versatile – serve with tortilla chips, grilled meats, tacos, or even spooned over fish.
  • Make-ahead friendly – stays fresh in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Substitutions

  • For a smoky twist, add roasted corn or chipotle powder.
  • Want extra crunch? Add diced red bell pepper or cucumber.
  • Not a fan of cilantro? Swap it for parsley or leave it out.

Cumin is added for a bit of a Mexican flare, along with a hearty handful of minced cilantro, but you can leave either out if you’re not a fan. This appetizer is extremely versatile and easy to play around with if you’re not on team cilantro.

And the best part? It’s great for making ahead of time. In fact, you can make a batch and stash it in your refrigerator for 2-3 days. It’s delicious served as a side dish with grilled meats, for scooping with homemade tortilla chips or scooped on top of baked fish. The options are endless.

Your fork is waiting.

I have a question, I’m not a fan of raw onion (both taste and texture). Should i add a dash of onion powder or just opt it all together? Thanks, gonna make this salsa this weekend.

I think you definitely want to include the flavor profile of the onion in some way, so using 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder should do the trick. Hope you enjoy!

Made this recipe for our super bowl snacks. Used only 1 jalapeno and could have used a little more heat. But my husband is not good with spicy. Loved this. I wi make again with 2 jalapenos when he travels out of town. Was delicioys.

Okay, so first off, I have major kitchen envy! Secondly, it’s like you took all my favorite foods and made one perfect dip- love the tang of the vinegar too. Beautiful recipe.
