This light and refreshing blueberry flavored vodka lemonade is sweetened with blueberry syrup and made with a splash of fragrant orange blossom water. This post is written in partnership with Meijer.
When it comes to summer entertaining, I love making big batch cocktails that can be prepped a day or two ahead such as this beautiful Blueberry Vodka Lemonade cocktail recipe.
The star of the show in this lemonade is a homemade blueberry syrup made with Meijer True Goodness frozen blueberries. Of course, fresh blueberries work as well.
To make the syrup, you simply cook down the blueberries in a pot with a little water and sugar then slowly simmer until the sugar dissolves and the berries start to pop.
For an added floral note, we love to stir in orange blossom water. This is a little trick I learned from my mom and aunts growing up – it’s very customary in Middle Eastern families.
Another reason I love shopping at Meijer is because their alcohol section is filled with a variety of locally produced liquors including Coppercraft Distillery Vodka out of Holland, Michigan. Before serving my Blueberry Vodka Lemonade, I top each glass with a splash of club soda for fizzy effervesce. It’s the perfect cocktail for a warm day!
Speaking of warm day, I decided to serve a big pitcher of this Blueberry Vodka Lemonade at the most recent edition of my live party series, Beats and Bites – BBQ edition!!
Hosted in partnership with Meijer, the BBQ menu featured a variety of tasty bites including Slow Cooker Shredded Beef Sliders made with Certified Angus Beef, Grilled Corn and Zucchini Salad made with True Goodness organic produce, Greek Pasta Salad made with Meijer rotini pasta and more.
The best part about entertaining with Meijer is that the store is truly a one stop shop for produce, meat, snacks, games, decor and more. In fact, most of the menu featured Meijer brand products. (Pro Tip: Don’t miss the Limited Edition Meijer Kettle Chips flavors!!) For a fun and creative way of serving: pre-fill a bunch of small brown paper bags so that people can sample various flavors.
To keep everyone refreshed and cooled down, I served glasses of Prosecco with popsicles upon arrival. As the popsicles melted, the Prosecco slowly turns sweet and fruity.
They were a huge hit with the guests and are super easy for effortless entertaining. Pro Tip: Place the glasses with the popsicles inside in the freezer a couple hours before the party to chill the glasses ahead of time.
Speaking of refreshing, I always like to keep out a big bucket of ice filled with Meijer sparkling waters. The orange and lime flavors were a huge hit with my guests.
We even had a fun, custom made balloon wall for the BBQ. These photo walls are a great way to encourage guests to snap pictures to remember the party.
Another party planning tip: mason jars are a great way to serve condiments for Italian sausages, brats, burgers, shredded beef sliders and more. By serving them in a see-through mason jar guests can easily see what they want and help themselves.
Needless to say, the party was a huge hit!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate summer with me and thank you to Meijer for making entertaining fun and effortless!
Where can I buy Orange Blossom water?
Major supermarkets with an ethic section such as Meijer should sell it.
How Does Orange Blossom Water affect the taste of the vodka?
It adds a floral note to the drink.
