Well, let’s not keep you waiting any longer.

Today, we are recreating one of my favorite restaurant cocktails – the chocolate martini. Creamy. Sweet. Decadent. Just a few words that come to mind when I think of this drink.

Steps to Make it
First, chill the glasses for about 30 minutes before pouring. It makes all the difference in the world! Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add all ingredients. Shake for at least 45 seconds before pouring between four chilled martini glasses. Garnish with extra chocolate syrup if you wish before serving.

The History of the Chocolate Martini
Did you know that the chocolate martini was invented by Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor in 1955? I sure didn’t! The good friends were filming together in Texas and combined their love of chocolate and martinis one night into a delicious concoction. The rest, as they say, is history.

Over the last 70 years, there have been many variations of the original chocolate martini. This one is my favorite, but I encourage you to get creative with garnishes and ingredients. You could try dessert-flavored vodkas like whipped cream or vanilla or a less obvious choice might be berry or citrus for a unique flavor.

Yes, you can! It may change the texture of the drink a bit, but as long as you’re not missing out on the signature chocolate flavor then experiment away!
