A quick and easy appetizer recipe, crispy crostini are topped with smoked fish dip, capers, red onion, tomatoes and dill. Ideal for brunch, baby showers or cocktail receptions.

I love hosting groups of people, whether for a holiday or just to catch up with friends! Of course, most of my entertaining revolves around food and everyone loves appetizers like my Thai Beef Lettuce Wraps, Steamed Pork Dumplings, or Avocado Chicken Salad Lettuce Cups. I love developing new appetizers and snacks to serve to friends and family, and my most recent obsession comes from Big O’ Smokehouse to make these delicious and Easy Crostini with Smoked Fish and Dill.

Ingredients

  • Crostini: Any thin, crusty bread will work well, like a baguette. Many grocery stores will even sell bags pre-sliced to save you more time!
  • Big O’ Smokehouse dip: I used their newest smoked grouper spread, for it’s tangy, lime-infused flavor. It pairs really well with the dill! They also have a whitefish, salmon, shrimp, and rainbow trout spread you can experiment with.
  • Red onion: Adds wonderful color and bright flavor to the crostini.
  • Tomato: Juicy, bright, umami taste for the appetizer.
  • Capers: A strong salty, briny flavor, so a little goes a long way! But they taste great with seafood.
  • Dill: Somewhat sweet, lemony, and vibrant flavor to balance out some of the salty flavors in the dish.

How to Make Easy Crostini with Smoked fish and Dill

Start your crostini with smoked fish by dicing your red onion and tomato.

Then slice your crusty bread into thin, diagonal slices.

Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and some kosher salt, then toast in the oven for a couple minutes.

Once bread has been toasted, top each with the smoked grouper spread, onion, and tomato. Season each with salt and black pepper to taste.
