Sweet apples and fragrant basil add flavor, crunch and texture to this delicious and easy tuna salad recipe.

Tuna salad is a staple in my house during lunch time and for good reason! It’s high protein, low carb and I always have a can or two on hand at the ready. My boys love it in a sandwich with crusty bread and I love eating it on salad greens or with rice crackers for a lighter option.

For a fun twist on the classic, I love throwing in diced apples to my tuna salad this time of year. Not only do apples add a subtle sweet flavor and lots of crunch, but it’s a great way to add a serving of fruit into your day.

Since the boys and I recently picked 24 pounds of gala apples, I am always looking for delicious ways to apples that doesn’t require a pie crust.

Ideal for back to school lunches or prepping ahead on Sunday for your busy week ahead, be sure to try this tuna salad with apples. It’s going to be a new favorite all year round!
