A chill is in the air and when I need a dose of comfort, nothing makes me feel more cozy than a warm grilled cheese sandwich. My Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Apples and Farmer’s Cheese was inspired by my recent visit with Ohio Dairy Farmers.
During our tour of the countryside, we stopped by Pearl Valley Cheese where I first sampled their delicious farmer’s cheese. Mellow, creamy and slightly pungent, I couldn’t wait to get home and create this sandwich.
Can you tell someone liked this sandwich??
If you’ve never tried apples in a grilled cheese, I urge you to give it a try. The tart sweetness of a crisp apple is the perfect balance to salty, tangy cheese.
Your family is waiting.

I LOVE grilled cheese and oh my goodness, I LOVE these pictures of A. What a cutie.
Is there anything cuter than a little kid smiling like a fool during lunch? I don’t think so.
That looks so good! The sweet and savory of the apples and cheese is right up my alley.
I’m with you – I like a little savory with my sweet. Give this a try!

Love the baby grins
Apples and cheese was always our go-to after school snack growing up so I figured why not grill it?
Mmmmm I love this sweet and salty combinations! Grilled cheese is one of my childhood favorites….can’t wait to make this!
Mine too!! Let me know if you give it a try!
Love these…. I use pumpernickel bread, white cheddar cheese and granny apple slices , they are sooooo good!
I always forget about pumpernickel bread – great reminder!!
Oh I LOVE Farmer’s Cheese! It’s always a special treat for us, because we don’t go to the Amish store often enough to get it all the time…when we really should. I’ll most likely be heading out there this weekend because we have family visiting from NY, so I’ll have to pick up some cheese so I can try this sandwich…I’ve never had apples on a sandwich before!
Oh I am so jealous!! Nothing beats good farmer’s cheese!! Enjoy! The apples are key!
Looks Yummy !
