This smoothie recipe made with avocado, blueberry, oatmeal, and flax is ideal for anyone including babies, toddlers and kids!

My 10 month old loves smoothies and has been enjoying them for several months now. Typically, they are a great way for mommy to buy some time while the baby feeds himself breakfast.

On a good day, smoothie time can provide mommy with 10-15 minutes of freedom to drink a cup of coffee or, gasp, prepare her own breakfast.

All of that changed with today’s Avocado Blueberry Smoothie. It was gone in 2 minutes. Literally. I turned away to pour myself a cup of coffee and by the time I turned around, it was half gone.

If you have never added avocado to a smoothie, I encourage you to give it a try. The rich, creamy fruit provides a smooth texture to any smoothie and fills your body with heart-healthy fats. For more on the health benefits of avocado, check out my Avocado Egg Sandwich recipe.
Frozen fruit:
If you’re looking to use frozen blueberries for this smoothie there is no issue. It would take the place of the ice cubes being used.

Hi Liz, It looks very yummy, refreshing and very healthy for everyone.
Looks delicious! AVOCADO BLUEBERRY, refreshing and very healthy. Just right for summer time.
Meh. I found this smoothie a bit on the tasteless side. I was looking for a zmoothie to use up a bit of avocado and this one held promise with the blueberry and banana combo. However, it just didn’t live up to my hopes. I did substitute coconut milk for the water and ice and use all frozen fruit, but this shouldn’t have resulted in the lack of flavour
.
I added strawberries and it taste good and alittle more water the the recipe said
Can’t wait to try this! Do you have a link for those adorable cups and lids?
Thanks so much!
They were a gift – sorry! No idea!! Enjoy the smoothie!
What can you substitute for the banana?
You can replace the banana with apple sauce or additional yogurt.
My 8 month old loves this! It was as if I had never given him anything quite so delicious….he whined when I took his cup away to give him more! Thanks for sharing a healthy, filling and fun smoothie recipe!
My one-year-old loved this smoothie! It was just sweet enough from the banana, and a little tart from the yogurt. Very yummy! I am trying to find ways to get her more calories and nutrients throughout the day, and this fit the bill!
I’m so glad she enjoyed!! Avocados are a great way to add high quality nutrients and calories!
Do you have to use the flax seed meal?
Absolutely not – feel free to skip!
