An indulgent, flavorful cocktail, this Espresso Rum Martini is made with fresh brewed espresso and decadent, 12 year rum. Perfect for date night in, entertaining or a girl’s night.

I recently returned from another wonderful Fresh Air Retreat in Austin, Texas. My glass is full from the fantastic interactions with fellow food bloggers during a week of eating delicious food, learning from brands, and having a lot of fun! While I talked all about the wonderful meetings we had with Envy Apples, Dave’s Killer Bread, Raptive, and Zwilling, today I want to share this delightfully delish Espresso Rum Martini that I developed in partnership with Flor de Caña.
What you’ll Need

- Cocktail shaker: If you don’t have a cocktail shaker, you could try a blender bottle, or a mason jar with a lid.
- Measuring cup: You don’t need a fancy double-headed jigger, but a measuring cup that reads in ounces will do the trick.
- Flor de Caña rum: The flavor profile is exceptionally smooth with rich flavors that comes from aging their rum in a bourbon barrel.
- Flor de Caña spresso: A light-bodied coffee liquor with a dry and smooth finish.
- Chilled espresso: You could also use just cold brew coffee, but I love the extra kick that the chilled espresso gives the drink.
- Simple syrup: You can use store bought, or easily make your own by heating 1 cup of sugar with water until dissolved.
Why Drink Flor De Caña

Flor de Caña has been a family owned business for over 130 years! And in that time, they have always strived to give back to the community and their workers. I love supporting businesses that take care of their people, but they also make amazing products. Their premium rums are great for any occasion! They have high-end, sipping rums as well as more versatile, younger rums that are perfect for mixing and cocktails! They also don’t use any artificial ingredients or added sugars, which is a huge selling point to me, and won’t be any surprise to my followers.
How to Make an Espresso Rum martini

To make your Espresso Rum Martini, fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the rum.

Next you’ll add the coffee liquor and chilled espresso. Finish with the simple syrup and top with the lid.

Then shake, shake, shake that thing like crazy until chilled and mixed well.

Once cold, strain and pour into your martini glasses.

Serve and enjoy your Espresso Rum Martini! Garnish with a couple coffee beans if you’re feeling extra fancy.
