I love the holidays not only because it brings my family together, but because I love to host dinners and parties. Holidays create a wonderful excuse to throw a little get-together and serve some delicious food! You don’t always have to serve full meals either, an array of appetizers usually does the trick just fine. Like my Protein Packed Baked Hummus Dip or Tomato Caprese Skewers with Pesto. I also love to serve brie of some kind, so today I’m thrilled to share my Hot Honey Baked Brie recipe.

Why You’ll Love This Baked Brie

  • Completely vegetarian, and can be gluten-free as well if it’s not served with bread!
  • Very simple, and uses less than 5 ingredients.
  • It’s ready, start to finish, in less than 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Labeled ingredients for hot honey baked brie against a white backdrop.
  • Brie: Creamy and buttery in flavor, I only use a brie wedge and not an entire wheel.
  • Honey: Naturally sweet without being sickeningly so.
  • Chili crisp: Adds some spicy crunch to the sweet honey, making it hot honey.
  • Almonds: Sliced almonds add some crunchy texture and nutty flavor.

Other Variations

You know I don’t have the biggest sweet tooth, unless it’s mixed with something a little salty, so brie is a common appetizer in my house. I have a lot of variations you can try, like my Baked Brie with Caramelized Onions, Baked Brie with Apple Cherry Compote, or Baked Brie with Honey and Almonds.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pairs well with baked brie?

Fresh and dried fruits, specifically apple slices, grapes, and pears. Jams and chutneys, nuts like walnuts, pecans, and almonds. Or breads, like baguettes, crostini, our pita. The options are really endless, and all so delicious!

Do you take the rind off of brie before baking?

No you don’t! The rind will soften as it bakes, and is completely edible! Unless you’re baking an entire wheel of brie, you’ll know the brie is finished when it melts and oozes out of the rind a bit.

Do you need to cover brie when baking?

Nope! You can cover it after you’ve baked it to keep it warm, but it should be baked uncovered.
