One of my favorite things about summer in Michigan is the abundance of ripe, fresh fruit at my local farmers market. Lately, I’ve been buying tons of sweet, juicy peaches and thinking about creative ways to use up my supply.

As the weather heats up, I like to host friends and cool down together over sweet, flavorful cocktails. If you’re a Moscow mule fan like me, my peach Moscow mule recipe is a great excuse to host a gathering. This cocktail is sooo delicious that you will want to make it again and again!

How to Make Peach Moscow Mules

To get started, you need to make fresh peach puree. First, combine the sweetness of the peach slices and sugar with water in a small saucepot. If you’ve never pureed fruit for a cocktail before, you will want to do this more with other recipes!

Second, bring the mixture to a boil then reduce it to a simmer. Let the peach mixture simmer for about 20 minutes (until it’s soft). You’ll love the floral, sweet aroma that fills your kitchen!

Third, use a potato masher to puree the peaches. Mash them as much as you can, remembering it’s okay to have a little bit of texture in the mix. Whether it’s tart or sweet, I personally love a bite of fruit in my cocktails.

Fourth, pour the puree in a separate bowl (I like to use a glass Pyrex measuring cup because it’s convenient). Place the puree in the refrigerator until you’re ready to use it or set it aside.

Fifth, place the mint sprigs and lime juice in the bottom of a large pitcher. This serves as a flavorful foundation for the cocktail mixture.

Next, use a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon to mash the mint springs. If you’re new to making cocktails, the muddling technique releases the flavor and natural oils, allowing the mint flavor to bind with the alcohol better.

Once you’re done muddling the mint, add the peach puree, gin, and ginger beer to the pitcher. Stir the bright, bold and fruity flavors together — you’re close to enjoying a tasty, fizzy cocktail.

To serve, fill four copper mule mugs with ice and fill them 2/3 the way up with the effervescent, mouthwatering mixture.

Finally, top each glass with club soda and garnish them with lime wheels and fresh mint. Each sip of this refreshing, effervescent cocktail gets better than the last!

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of sugar do I use?

I used standard granulated sugar. I don’t recommend using baking sugars such as brown sugar or confectioner. Feel free to use Stevia or another sugar alternative if you prefer – just be aware of the difference in sweetness.

What tool can I use if I don’t have a muddler?

A muddler alternative is a wooden spoon, French rolling pin or anything that’s good at pressing or smashing food.

Can I use another fruit instead of peaches?

Of course. This cocktail recipe was developed specifically with peaches in mind, but you can adapt the process for any other fruit you prefer. For inspiration, check out my strawberry Moscow mules.

  1. No vodka? This is a London Mule riff because of the gin. It was good with the peach too! Will be making next summer brunch for sure. Thanks for this!
