This smooth and creamy blueberry vanilla protein smoothie is ideal for using up any fresh or frozen berries you have on hand! The ultimate breakfast or healthy snack recipe for sipping on-the-go.

With school starting back up here soon, I’m preparing for more busy mornings of getting my boys and I ready and out the door quickly. With those hectic mornings on the horizon, I like to plan ahead some healthy breakfast ideas to choose from. Since my family picks fresh berries every summer and freezes them, we have berries to use all year long in smoothies. This Blueberry Vanilla Protein Smoothie has the added benefit of protein powder to keep us feeling full and satisfied until lunch, letting my boys focus on school, and me on whatever else I need to get done that morning!
Ingredients
- Banana: A great source of natural sweetness and creaminess. If you use frozen bananas, you won’t have to use as much ice!
- Blueberries: Tart and tangy, you can use either fresh or frozen blueberries for this smoothie.
- Greek yogurt: Thick and creamy for the base of the smoothie, I use plain Greek yogurt for no added sugars, but the added protein.
- Protein powder: I’ll use vanilla protein powder to up the vanilla flavor, or a flavorless powder, but the protein is what keeps you feeling full.
- Flaxseed meal: Tasteless, but adds a bunch of nutritional value to the smoothie including omega 3s and antioxidants.
- Cinnamon: Tastes great with both blueberries and vanilla, and adds warm, sweetness to the smoothie.
- Vanilla: Sweetens and enhances the natural flavors of the smoothie.
How to Make Blueberry Vanilla Protein Smoothie

And your vanilla.

Switch Things UP
- Make it vegan. Use a plant based protein powder and replace the Greek yogurt with either a vegan yogurt or you can just use oat milk or unsweetened almond milk!
- Increase the fiber. You could make this an oatmeal protein smoothie by adding some oats into the mix.
- Swap the berries. Instead of blueberries, you could make this smoothie with raspberries or strawberries.
