Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but unfortunately it is a meal many people skip. We strive to make breakfast both easy and fun in my house, to make sure none of us skip it! Pumpkin Oatmeal Breakfast Cookies are some of my husband’s favorite, and I love my Peaches and Cream Overnight Oats. We also make these 5-ingredient, no cook Yogurt Banana Splits with Muesli all the time in our house – they have become a favorite with both of my boys!

Why You’ll Love These Yogurt Banana Splits

  • So simple and quick, you can make them in under 5 minutes!
  • They include all the things kids love, but are a healthy, balanced meal.
  • They’re fun!

Ingredients

Labeled ingredients for yogurt banana splits with muesli.
  • Bananas: Naturally sweet and creamy, and also full of vitamins and nutrients.
  • Yogurt: I typically use plain whole milk yogurt, but you can use Greek yogurt for added protein, or vanilla yogurt if you want it a little sweeter.
  • Muesli: A mixture of rolled oats, corn flakes, and dried fruit.
  • Berries: My family loves to use raspberries, blueberries, or blackberries!
  • Honey: Adds natural sweetness without processed sugar.

Shake Things Up

  • Instead of honey, you could drizzle peanut butter or nutella!
  • Switch up the berries thrown on top and use strawberries, apples, or coconut shavings.
  • Change nothing, and just add more! Add some nuts, a sprinkle of cinnamon, or some chia seeds.

How to Make Yogurt Banana Splits with Muesli

Step 1. Cut your bananas in half length wise, then lay on a plate. Drizzle yogurt over the top.

Step 2. Sprinkle muesli over the top of the yogurt, and drizzle with honey.

Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between a banana split and a banana boat?

A banana split is usually an ice cream sundae treat, while a banana boat is a camping treat made with banana, marshmallow, and chocolate. My healthier alternative isn’t really either one!

Is a banana split unhealthy?

All things in moderation, but my take on a yogurt banana split is definitely a healthier alternative to the ice cream sundae!

What is the best fruit to eat with yogurt?

Most fruit tastes great with yogurt because fruits are naturally sweet! Berries and banana are my favorite though.

One tip I learned from Bjork of the Food Blogger Pro Podcast is that if you wait to launch something once it’s “perfect” you’ll launch too late. :)
